CalSTRS Chief Investment Officer Scott Chan reported that the total Teachers' Retirement Fund surpassed $400 billion at the September meeting of the Teachers’ Retirement Board’s Investment Committee.

CalSTRS released its latest semiannual performance reports to the Teachers’ Retirement Board’s Investment Committee during the September meeting. These reports aid the Investment Committee in overseeing the Teachers’ Retirement Fund.

Chief Executive Officer Cassandra Lichnock announced to the Teachers’ Retirement Board that attorney supervisor John Shipley was a recent recipient of California's Medal of Valor, the highest honor granted to public servants by the state.

At its September 2026 meeting, the Teachers’ Retirement Board adopted the Notice of Election announcing the 2027 Election of Active Employee Members to the board.
