Chief Executive Officer Cassandra Lichnock highlighted the 2022–23 report as part of her March 2024 CEO Report to the Teachers' Retirement Board.

The Teachers' Retirement Board took a support position on Assembly Bill 2901 (Aguiar-Curry), which would provide for up to 14 weeks of fully paid leave for California public school employees for pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, termination of pregnancy or recovery from those conditions.

Kenneth “Ken” Tang, of Alhambra, and Karen Yamamoto, of Sacramento, have been reappointed to serve on the 12-member Teachers’ Retirement Board.

CalSTRS released its latest semi-annual performance reports to the Teachers' Retirement Board Investment Committee during the March meeting. The reports show that efforts by CalSTRS to build a portfolio that can both weather difficult economic times and take advantage of better stretches leads to continued solid returns.

In the first phase of the modernization plan, CalSTRS introduced a new telephone system that is suitable for present needs and adaptable to future requirements that will allow staff to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
