Chief Investment Officer Scott Chan informed the board’s Investment Committee that Kirsty Jenkinson and April Wilcox have been appointed to senior investment director roles from within CalSTRS after a thorough and competitive recruitment process.

In August, Jenkinson became the senior investment director of Private Markets and Sustainable Investment and Stewardship Strategies (SISS). Jenkinson is the former director of SISS.

Wilcox, formerly the director of Investment Services, was selected in July as the senior investment director of Strategic Management and Operations.

Senior investment directors make decisions that significantly affect the Teachers' Retirement Fund, advise the chief investment officer on sophisticated portfolio management strategies and decisions, and make tactical and strategic investment recommendations.

Jenkinson and Wilcox join fellow CalSTRS senior investment directors Geraldine Jimenez (Public Markets) and June Kim (Total Fund Management). All four senior investment directors report to the CIO.
