The Teachers' Retirement Board consists of 12 members who are elected, appointed or hold office ex officio for four years. Their decisions affect all active and retired CalSTRS members. In the fall of 2027, CalSTRS will be conducting an election for the three members of the board who represent active CalSTRS members and participants. Voting will be open from September 10, 2027, until November 10, 2027.

The nomination period for the 2027 Teachers' Retirement Board Election is currently open. The nomination period ends December 18, 2026. More information on becoming a candidate can be found in the 2027 Teachers' Retirement Board Candidate Information Packet.
